I just got a phone call. My kid has been carrying around the proof of immunizations from the ped for DAYS in his backpack and keeps forgetting to hand it to the school nurse. >:/
So, yes. They sent letters, and there are follow-up phone calls. They needed proof of Tdap and Mennegecoccal...or however it's spelled.

There were changes in vaccinations for Kindergarten and 6th grade (I think). If you are unsure, just call the school nurse. Better to know now and get it done.

My kid's school has been emailing general reminders to all families-- there's a deadline of Oct. 31. After that, students who aren't up to date on their vaccinations aren't allowed to come to school until they are.
I think my kid is up to date. I have NOT received any sort of "warning" letter. For some reason, though, I'm really paranoid about this. I'm worried that my kid will be turned away from school, and I'll have to scramble for a doctor appointment.
I'm afraid to call the school and draw attention to myself.
So, can anyone ease my mind? Did the schools already tell people if they weren't in compliance, or are they going to just spring it on them when November comes?
