Just watching the video referenced above -- it seems like the Dilleys may have done a number of TV shows/interviews when the kids were babies, but from school age onwards I think they really kept it low profile.
I've always loved following them -- in part bc updates are so rare. All I can recall from the post-baby years was a special with Diane Sawyer around 3rd-4th grade, another one around 6-7th grade, a GMA appearance when they started high school, and I think they appeared on Rachel Ray in high school too -- though I think that may have just been their mom talking about raising a large family, groceries consumed, how they budget for clothes for so many etc. I think they did some local media in Indiana when they were in elementary school -- like a line of ads for a grocery store and department store, but I think that may have been it.
From the parents' perspective I can see their point of view; put the babies out there when they are little and maybe even let them do a few ads in elementary school as that'll generate a few thousand dollars which will be helpful with such a large family, but don't put them out there long enough for people to develop opinions of them. I mean I don't know which Dilley is considered the dramatic one -- unlike say Mady Gosselin.

I don't remember the Dilleys at all. They must have really kept a low profile. On the other hand, all the publicity the McCaughey septuplets got rubbed me the wrong way. They got a house! The mother got braces! It was all a bit too much for me. From Wikipedia: The McCaugheys were the recipients of many generous donations, including a 5500 ft² (511 m²) house, a van and diapers for the first two years, as well as nanny services, clothes, and even the State of Iowa offering full college scholarships to any state university in Iowa upon their maturity and graduation from high school. Maybe I'm just bitter because I share a birthday with them and hear about them every year. Bah, humbug.

Me too! I wish there had been audio on some of the clips she used. I found it very moving.

I loved their specials when I was younger! Glad to hear they're all still doing well. I also remember liking the family of septuplets, was it the McCoys? Though they had even fewer specials than the Dilleys did.

Wow I remember when they were toddlers and now 1 is a parent! They seemed like a nice family I'm glad they're doing well. Are the parents still together?

The Quints by Surprise thread reminded me. They never had a show -- bc they didn't want to give away their privacy and probably bc reality tv was not nearly as big back then -- but they did a few update specials with Diane Sawyer.
They are now about 21 yrs old and seem to be doing really well. 2 are Army ROTC in college and will be commissioned officers next yr; 1 got accepted to med school at Indiana starting next yr; 1 graduated college early and is now in a pharma program; 1 of the daughters married at like 18(!) and has her own 2 kids and is also a nurse; and one is a social workers. Their parents always seemed very down to earth -- got by with what they had even through job losses etc. Stark difference from the families of multiples now who are always trying to cash out with a TV show, donations etc.
Wish they'd do an update special again, though I guess as adults it's up to each "kid" to participate or not.
