Personally I hate gushing praise, but if your daughter really meant it, then that's really heartwarming after all you've been through together.

My oldest daughter and I have had a rather difficult relationship for many years. For my birthday, she sent a card which nothing but praise for the person she thinks I am and the skills that I have. She is a wonderful and caring person---I'm so glad she is my daughter and that we both hung in there, tho it was difficult.
