I'm poly about these kind of things but flaxseed bread is sooo yummy to me!

If you're giving it for regularity, be sure to add an extra glass or two of water, too. Otherwise you can get even more backed up.

As you discovered, it makes a gel when ground and liquid is added. I use it to replace eggs in baking.

I thought flax seeds have phytoestrogens, and should be avoided in young boys.

My son likes to sprinkle it on his granola. I also bake it into stuff.

Get flaxseed meal.

Boy, are you fun.

My teen adds it to his yogurt.

put it in smoothies. With the fruit bits they won't detect it.

Grind it to make it a powder first. It becomes more digestible and more nutrition gets absorbed. Then add it in cereal, smoothie, pasta, sauce, soups etc. It will thicken whatever you add it in.

You can bake it into breads too. Just check out the recipes.

I bought some for my son to give him extra fiber. I added 2 tablespoons to chocolate milk. He didn't like because there were pieces floating in the milk. He had several sips and I swear it worked because he went later that day. But anyway, I went back to the milk several minutes later to drink it myself since I didn't want to waste it...and it was so thick like it had absorbed the milk. Should I have used less? Should I let it sit before drinking it? Any other suggestions for using it?
