SO obviously doesn't want to do the favor, and is taking cowards way out.
If this is any indication of your future.. It looks pretty bleak.

...because my SO is very passive aggressive AND gives the silent treatment. Double whammy

Is possible esp. if he was texting by voice command. Could Siri think that your name sounds anything like that of the person he intended to send the text to?

Weird things happen that way, someone once sent me a text that said "I whaleboat now" - what he actually said was "I'm available now"

Also, I did that to my now-husband years ago. Was visiting him (we were long distance) and having a miserable time on that particular trip. I complained via text about how this was the worst trip I'd ever had going to see him and how I couldn't wait to leave and sent it to HIM by accident. Meant to send it to a friend. Oops. Awkward.

The text seemed to be one in a series, a response to a question. How would one respond to a question to the wrong person? I've never had that happen to me.

I've responded to a question asked by one friend by texted another by accident. Depends on if there's a gap between my reading the question and responding.

How would you respond?

I asked directly and received no response. My plan is to just not discuss it.

If you asked your S/O for a favor and s/he said "yes." Then a day later your receive an "accidental" text very clearly discussing the request. What would you think? That this person did it on purpose (afterall after a day I would be low on the text list)? They planted the text to passive aggressively complain?

For the record, after it was said that the text was meant for someone else the person did not respond to a text directly asking if this was in reference to X.
