If a MNSSHP night is your only chance for fireworks, you could go watch from the TTC dock. You'll get a straight-on view (just further away) and they pipe in the music. Well, they usually pipe it in - might need to ask the DIS boards about MNSSHP nights specifically.

We're at Disney now and our resort (Art of Animation) has a ton of stuff on the calendar for Halloween.

You could have dinner at California Grill and then watch the fireworks from their terrace. You can eat early and go back with your receipt.

Typically there are no Fast Passes during the parties so the PP got very lucky.

I'm in tears over the idea of them ushering us out at 7:00, the only upside we can think of is just ending our day at 5 or 6, so my six year old doesn't see what's up.

My DH convinced me that the ticketed event would be separate and there's no way they could kick everyone out.

So disappointed that we won't be able to see the fireworks.

Are you just going for one day?

If you are there for a multi day vacation, then go to a different park on the days when there's a Halloween Party, and do Magic Kingdom on a non-Holiday Party day.

If you are going for just one day, buy park hoppers. Do Magic Kingdom in the morning and early afternoon, then leave and go see Illuminations (Epcot Fireworks) or Fantasmic (Hollywood Studios fireworks) both of which are better than wishes (Magic Kingdom Fireworks).

We went two years ago and they were definitely checking to see if park guests had the special band Halloween Party band on. We were asked several times to show our bands. We were sitting next to a family at the parade and they were asked to leave the park because they did not have bands for the Halloween Party. If it is not raining the party is a lot of fun. Lines to the rides are short and the parade and fireworks are really good.

We just went and skipped it. Most people we talked to said it was not worth the extra money. They do kick you out and the entire thing is gross to charge that much but you just park hop that night or don't go to Magic Kingdom on that day and do another park. Kids will not care. They do check and kick you out. We got kicked out. They push you through to the exit and are very clear and not so nice about telling you to get out. They also locked down the monorail to the cars and forced everyone on the boats. (and lied saying the monorail was broken when it clearly was running for halloween)

We'll be there on Halloween as well and couldn't get tickets to Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween either. If you're staying at one of the onsite resorts, they may have some kids activities that night. When I checked in with our resort (AKL), they sent me a flyer with all of the activities they're having that night and mentioned there would be trick-or-treating spots around the resort as well.

Yup, we were definitely there on a party night... no idea why, maybe we were just always in the right place at the right time or something, but we never missed a beat. Which is good, b/c we had fast passes that I couldn't get any earlier that day (the elusive A&E)

New poster here--I went to the party in 2012 and that was definitely my experience too. They were definitely checking for the party wristband and telling people without them that they had to leave.

are you just going for one day? Just go to MK on a non-party day. Honestly, this is not a big deal. We were there at halloween time a couple of years ago. My little ones never could have lasted late enough to make the party worth it.

We just got back, did not have tix to MNSSHP and we were in the MK until about 8pm one night. Nobody asked to re-scan our magicbands or anything... I kept waiting to be ushered out but DH made the point that there was really no way. We didn't see any roped-off areas or anything, either.
Even that late, there were plenty of kids not in costume... also, there were plenty of kids in costume all day. So you could play it either way. There aren't any giant posters or announcements or anything that would clue your kids in.

If it is the fireworks you want to see why don't you buy tickets to the Pirates and Pals fireworks boat trip? We are going in Nov and I decided not to go to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas because I have heard it is chaos. Instead, we will take the boat trip which I think my 5 and 8 year old will love. It leaves from the Contemporary hotel.

Probably can see them from your hotel. And your child will likely have NO IDEA. Have him wear his costume all day. Decorations and everything will be out already.
