They get big and they get aggressive. Many many people get them and then offload them on a shelter or rescue group. Don't do it.

Oh no! That isn't what I want to hear. I'm on here a lot and don't remember another pig thread.
We do have a much loved dog. We've just always been pig fans.
I am the above poster. Forgot to mention that my friend also has a little dog who was there first. The pig is not nice to the dog (nips at her, takes her food-obviously) and the dog is extremely stressed by the pig.

Also be aware that many communities don't allow pigs. I worked with a guy who was forced to give up his potbelly because the neighborhood filed a lawsuit.

I went to an animal sanctuary last weekend that had lots of potbellied pigs that had been abandoned by their owners when they grew too unmanageable. My sister told me about a friend who once had one; she described it as a "really smart asshole." It got into mischief akin to a smart, ill behaved dog.

Does anyone own a pet pig? It's always been a dream of ours to own a little pig, but we've never had any experience.
I've heard that there is no such thing as a mini pig, but I've also seen tons of mini pigs.
Maybe this is just a pipe dream, but any experiences?
