Makes sure you're right first! There's always next time.

Because it's the only place where you can be nasty without consequence. Think of it as stress relief, letting your un-sugarcoated inner thoughts out.

Hearing an opposing viewpoint can be enlightening. Just hearing affirmation of one narrow point of view, not so much.

PP and OP, your spelling are both right (British and American spelling like labor and labour)

I agreed with OP. Some people post negative comment. It is rude IMO. If you can't post it nicely then don't bother. If the post makes you angry to spell out negative comments, just move on.

Hi, I'm reading all these family message boards, drinking my coffee trying to slowly get into my day and I realize that everyone must be under a lot of stress. Why are people so nasty here? These people are using this channel to vent their frustrations. They may be right or wrong but don't pass judgement. Saying you are crazy or a bitch or something else critical is a type of online bullying. How would you feel if someone automatically wrote that to you as a response? Just listen people! So much negativity! People have a right to vent. Just listen without passing judgement.
