I love the look, but to have them done well, they are more expensive than most alternative countertop materials. The one friend I know who had concrete had them ripped out after about 2 years and replaced with marble. Even properly treated, they stain really, really easily. Every time a glass was placed on them, it would leave a ring mark.

Really, ugly? Ive only seen them in mags/TV but they seem cool -- they're that bad?

Is concrete cheaper than stone? Do you have to search to find someone who really knows what they are doing, or is it pretty easy?
