Nigella has a recipe for something called mincemeat parcels with bourbon butter....Google it and you'll see it. Looks good, and I am not a mincemeat fan!

I like it in crumb bars. I cut it with apple butter and the two tastes together against the bland background of butter/flour really works.

Make and freeze mince pies. Pull them out at Christmas.

Make a crumble like apple crumble only with mincemeat.

I think there was an episode of the Splendid Table radio show where someone called in an asked what to do with leftover mincemeat and she had fun suggestions.

Thanks. I will also see if that episode is archived.

Mincemeat, like fruit cake, isn't tasty.

Can you also just freeze it in a ziplock bag in case you want a mincemeat pie again in a couple of months?

Yes, it is apples and raisins with spices and rum. Actually that would be nice with plain Greek yogurt. Thanks!

The weather got to me and I made a mincemeat pie, but there's still a half jar of the stuff. I'm the only person who likes it so making a second pie is not among my options. Before I trash it, what can I do with it that would be worthwhile saving?

TIA.
