We have a big honking chaise and my husband and I hate it. It was to replace a love seat in the bedroom Spent big bucks for it at the Design Center too. Should have just kept the loveseat. It is pretty but neither of us ever use it. For some reason they are awkward to move around in and they take up quite a bit of real estate for one person.

Looks comfortable for reading, but if you're looking for extra seating, you might want to go with a love seat.

I'm considering getting a stand-alone chaise for our living room, but I'm not sure how versatile it will be. (I'd prefer a loveseat, but I think a chaise fits the space better.) If you have a chaise, do you usually use it laying down, or can you sit comfortably in it too. Looking at something like this, if it helps:
