Only if they need assistance getting the catheter into the right place. They don't check the follicle(s) at all.... at least they didn't with the 3 I did there over the summer.

I had about 5 IUIs and they never did an ultrasound after trigger.

I did IUI at GIVF 8 yrs ago and they did an ultrasound right before the IUI. For my second child, when they did the US there were too many follicles for me to feel comfortable that there would be a good chance of only a singleton so I cancelled the IUI.

I did IUI at a DC clinic (not SG) and they also did not monitor after the trigger shot.

Subject: Ultrasound the day of IUI?
I recently had my first IUI at SG, and was surprised that once I was told to trigger there were not anymore ultrasounds. I just spoke to a friend who is undergoing IUI in NY, and in addition to her clinic doing back to back IUIs, her clinic does an ultrasound the day of the IUI to confirm how many follicles are there, and again the morning after in case there were any that were released late.
Do any clinics in the DC area do ultrasounds the day of the IUI? It seems like it makes sense to see what is going on that day, rather than to assume everyone ovulates 36 hours after the trigger. Has anyone had experience with SG or another local clinic being open to back to back IUIs? Thanks!
