Ok thanks for the advice. My kid has been but now has taken a break and needs to go back for some issues. He hasn't been in three weeks. He says he hates going because normal teens don't go. He has issues and he NEEDS to go.
PP here, I'm sorry, I was imagining a situation where a child doesn't have experience. I do think that many older kids/teens struggle with coming to terms with the fact that they need supports, accommodations or modifications, and can engage in magical thinking that if the accommodations go away, so will the condition that makes them necessary.
Can you make an appointment to talk with the therapist about it without your DC present? He might have ideas.
