I'm a parent, not a daycare teacher. I love that our daycare protects and respects its staff, even though they don't make much. Id hate for my kid to have a teacher with an attitude like yours. Stay away.

That is fantastic. Must be a good environment there. This was the case at the daycare my daughter attended last year. If it is such a good environment at this job, I might stay too.
Daycare worker here... Just because the teachers have been there a long time doesn't mean they are happy. Most are stuck there.

This is because there is a huge lack of professionalism and the women that work at these places are super catty. She works at Montessori schools, too, so however fancy the school is doesn't seem to make a difference in quality of work life or pay.
She calls me nearly every single day crying about how much she hates her job as she's always stuck int he toddlers room and is basically a babysitter. The pay is so low and she can't afford health insurance that the stress is making her sick.
Honestly I have no idea how daycare workers make a living and feel terrible for my friend since she even went to a 2 year school for an early education certificate and regrets spending her last TEN years doing this to be making 11 bucks an hour.
I would really think about it.
