Langley's reputation is that they do not approve of alpha boys and alpha sports. They did field a large soccer team in the fall, however.

There are many kids involved in Madlax program. From what I hear, and our family is not so sporty, the programs like Madlax attract more kids than any of the various school programs.

I've got a 2nd grader at Langley who loves lacrosse so I'm hopeful we'll have a team in the future. Not a big deal in the scheme of things but would be nice.

Most of the kids at Langley do other things -- soccer, tennis, girls on the run, basketball, horse riding, gymnastics, dance. Lacrosse just doesn't have the players to field two different teams. Sorry St Pats mom!

Langley doesn't have enough lacrosse players. When they do field a lax team, it's a combo team filled with 5th-8th kids. I've seen them play and they would lose to most good rec league teams.

My kids don't go there. They go to a different school in the CAC and we played Langley in soccer earlier this season. They have some great little athletes at their school. It made me wonder why we never play them in lacrosse. The K-8s that do play lacrosse have really fun and competitive games. The kids love it most importantly. Langley seems like a school that would/should have JV and V lacrosse teams.

5th and 6th grades, at ages 10 and 11, are the perfect age at which to form school teams. Its still at a fun level and it's an opportunity for kids whose parents don't sign them up for outside sports to try something new. Team sports at this young age are also a huge benefit of the k-8 schools. Most schools that go through 12th don't have field space for 5th and 6th graders to have team sports.

For the cost going to Langley, they should have a team. There are also enough sporty kids.Often k8 schools lose kids to k12 schools after 6 grade.

You should start one.

I go to Langley and it looks like the Spring Lacrosse team is for combined 5-8. Maybe there's not enough players to have Varsity and JV? The fall sports seem well supported - there were probably 20 girls playing JV soccer last week.

So ask them,,offer to pay for hiring a coach and starting a program, and make a huge donation. I'm sure the problem will get solved.

Who cares? It's 5th and 6th graders. Besides, all the athletics offerings/teams in that league are dreadful.

All the other schools in the CAC (private school conference) do, for 5/6th and 7/8th, as well as for track, soccer, and basketball. So why is Langley School the only one that doesn't?. Hard to imagine there isn't interest in that area of No Va. Little Langley likes to says its a sporty K-8th but lacrosse is an important sport in the area. Why don't they have teams to play in the CAC?
