It is very important if you want to have a general idea about AAP, selection process and what do they look in kids etc.

Yeah this meeting is for parents who are not yet in the AAP system. Not those already in. When testing is, maybe discussing cutoffs, the levels there are, etc. They won't really get into what the program is when you're in - ie what does Level 4 AAP really do differently.

You may get one or two pieces of information that may be helpful. It is fairly general but if you don't know anything about the process and you have a second grader, it is probably worth it to attend.

It probably depends somewhat on the AART. They have a standard presentation about the process, but they add in anecdotes about what to submit and why AAP would or would not be a good fit for certain kids.

I would try to go if you are new to the process. It's better than relying on info from DCUM!

The fall meeting I think mostly discusses testing. Most parents attend the meeting in the spring and the one if your child is accepted if you're interested in the program, but not necessarily the fall meeting.
