Subject: How many shirts and pants does a 2 year old boy need?
How many times do your kids wear PJs before washing them? Just curious. I try to go at least 2 nights, but usually I have DS eat breakfast in his PJs, getting food on them quite frequently. So I always have a lot of PJs.
OP, you should go with what you have. As the next couple of months go on, you'll be able to assess whether you need more clothes. That's what I did over the summer and how I plan to go about his clothing for the winter.

My 2 yr old girl has two weeks worth of clothes for each season. 14 pairs of pants made up of leggings, jeans, overalls, etc. 14 short sleeve shirts including tank tops, 14 long sleeve shirts including sweaters and 14 dresses/skirts.

So far, I have bought my 2 1/2 year old the following:
10 long sleeve shirts
2 "sweatshirts"
8 pairs of pants
1 sweater
2 fleeces
1 rain jacket
1 coat
7 pairs of PJs
4 undershirts
1 pair of shoes
I will buy another pair of shoes in about a month, as I usually have 2 pairs getting worn at any given time. I may pick up another pair of jeans. I buy more clothing to avoid doing laundry all of the time. And, I don't like seeing DS in the same thing every other day. That's just me, though.

When potty training do not skimp on underwear. Buy a lot for your own sanity.

I always thought i would never buy so much clothes for my child....for sanity, you almost have to so you don't wash every other day. And i always keep a spare outfit in the car. I browse the clearance sale at Target quickly when i'm in there, so I have bought shorts/shirts for $2.50-nice!

That's what I did, for me sanity. I did do laundry pretty much every day during potty training

Sounds about right to me - though my potty training (for forever) son had probably 15 pairs of shorts this summer...

My kid rarely wore his backup clothes at daycare so I would say 6-7 tops and 6-7 pants would be sufficient. When he starts potty training all bets are off - I will definitely be doing multiple loads of laundry this week

My son had a growth spurt and I noticed that the sleeves of his 18-24 month shirts are way too short. I have about 5 2T knit shirts and 2 jeans, 2 sweats, 2 track pants. He goes to daycare 5 days a week. How many tops and pants is a good number to have so I don't have to do laundry more than once a week? I think 5-7 isn't enough as the clothes will get worn out but don't want to buy too many either. He also has a few dress shirts and sweaters but I'm more concerned about everyday clothes.
