Don't know if there are any locations near you, but the Unleashed by Petco has DIY dog baths, super cheap.

Back.. For small dogs I would say go with the b air dryer. It's much more quiet than the master blaster. I got that one off craigslist for maybe $50 from a groomer who quit her job. On my parents dog we wash him in the laundry sink and then place a piece of plywood over it to use as a table. We attached a plant hanger to the wall and attach a leash. I come and dry him on that and you can easily see any tangles before they become matts and need to be shaved. The tangles can be seen easily because of the dryer and how it hits the skin. I maybe spent $200 on a clipper, $100 on 3 blades and $15 on a comb. Nail trimmer was only $10. Blade cleaner was $10, ear hair plucker $10, ear grip powder $5. Everything is still going strong a year later and used twice a month.

Do you have to blow dry your dog? Most dogs don't need that unless their hair matts super badly.

OP , oh no not snarky at all. Mine is a master blaster two speed. It's a big dryer on wheels with a 6 foot hose. I would not use it on your small dog. Instead try a b air dryer one or two speed. I got mine at petedge online. It's an awesome source for things. When I've done my parents small dog if he gets air dryer he will get matted. I'll be back with more info

12:31 here, the tubs are raised at Fur Get Me Not and have stairs for the dog to walk up to get into it. The sprayers are also high pressure, making it much faster than your home tub. My dog is also anti-crate. The reason DH has to do it next time is that my dog didn't want to go up the stairs so I had to lift him, and he's just too big for me to do that. My dog was also a rescue and was neglected, and has been sent home from groomers un-groomed for bad behavior.

When I had a big dog, we got closing glass doors on our bathtub and it contained him for the bath. Made it a lot easier and he got a lot more baths after.

I took my groomer hating dog to Fur Get Me Not in Adam's Morgan. It was great. Not too pricey, didn't have the mess in my own house, very nice facilities, and I think we just walked in. My dog was afraid of the blow dryers and tried to eat it, though, so I did end up with a wet dog in my car. Next time I'm making DH do it--my dog is big.

Any good ones in DC or nearby MD suburbs? My dog bites groomers...so yeah.
