Since 'driving education' in America is a total joke most people in the US are actual quite horrible driver's. It's no surprise to me if teens who start driving at 15/16 without ever having to go through a thorough learning/testing/exam period (and I am talking about a year of weekly classes both theory and practical driving lessons) end up terrible driver's. In fact all the accidents/injuries/deaths etc. on American streets are just a testimony of a very very bad driver's education system. But oh well...nobody cares so -shrugs-

Get in on video, otherwise no one will believe you.

My kids are 19 and 22 - I'd absolutely want to be told.

I completely agree. If one of my children is driving recklessly, I would hope that my neighbors would say something to me, and I would be fine with the neighbor speaking to my child. I thing teens often hear "blah, blah, blah" when parents reprimand them for something, but might actually listen and be more responsive if someone else corrects them!

Better to go 15MPH above the limit on 495 in light traffic than to go 15MPH above on a narrow residential (dead end) street with kids running all over. It is always dangerous to speed.

I told my neighbors feedback on dds driving would be welcomed if they had it...

I think it's worth saying something. It's unlikely to have an effect, but trying is better than not trying.

And yes, most drivers speed. That doesn't make it right.

People fool themselves about their own driving. Extending that to their kids is not a stretch.

A neighbor is. They think she is the safest driver. But she roars down a suburban 25MPH street at 40MPH. Screeches around corners. The other day she was driving their truck into a McDonald's parking lot (crazy drivers have a way of driving large killer vehicles). She entered the lot at about 35MPH while going around a blind turn. A woman leaped out of her way in time.
Thinking of telling her parents. DH suggests speaking to her directly and if she is not responsive, then tell parents.
