OP do you see little bumps kind of underneath the skin if you look closely? If so, I get this periodically. Always on thumb. Sometimes on one finger. My derm friend told me what it was called and gave me samples for it. It seems to have stopped happening. VERY VERY ITCHY. Like nutty itchy, And in a very small area. Side of thumb mostly.

Are you pregnant? This happened to my during pregnancy and post partum. It was inflamation and got better on its own but very very slowly.

One of the earliest indicators of MS is numbness or pins and needles type feelings in the extremities. The way you describe the itchy feeling as being internal sends up some red flags for me. People usually ignore the early warning signs because they don't seem that bad. I'm not saying you have MS. I'm just saying don't ignore it. It could also be a sign of nerve damage or diabetes.



Don't scare the OP ...It's not MS... They would have much more pronounced symptoms and it wouldn't be isolated to their thumb area

I have that on one foot and my doctor think it is based on circulatory issues, although nothing serious.

I get thatonce in a blue moon...for as long as I can remember. drives me nuts but usually goes away in a few hours. i never had it checked out because it doesn't happen that often. I think it is just a fluke - something along the lines of hiccups, or harmless eye twitches. It won't hurt mentioning it to your doctor next ime you go.

Cholestasis causes itchy palms. Not related to alchohol but the liver, usually pregnancy related.

You should go to the doctor. This can be an early sign of MS... or can be the result of excessive alcohol consumption.

My thumb/palm side of hand near my thumb are driving me crazy. It is an itch that seems deep inside. Not a skin itch.

WTH can I do to help this weird sensation?
