These cases are never as simple as one-sided media coverage suggests. This was someone she'd admittedly had sex with before, and the encounter she calls rape also apparently began consensually. Maybe she is telling the truth; maybe he is. No one but they will ever know. Don't jump to conclusions about the righteousness of her "cause" just because she's willing to call attention to herself by dragging around a bed.

Thanks for perpetuating the rape culture in this country. Now fuck off.

Consensual sex that devolves to choking and anal sex with cries of "stop, stop" is assault and rape. That's her story. I wonder if she went to the ER. The problem with colleges and universities handling these accusations is there are no forensics. These should be criminal investigations, not panel interviews that turn on one person'a word against another.

I think she's awesome for figuring out a way to turn the trauma of being raped into an empowered, creative expression. Pretending it didn't happen or silence/denial + decades of therapy won't help solve this problem.

And to the unemployment PP, encourage your child to express disdain for art and the belief that college is about vocational prep and see what happens when they apply to a selective college.

I'm in the "college is not vocational ed training" camp. I know a lot of art majors with great jobs-- some are artists, some do other things, some do art-related jobs, like advising major corporations that want to buy art.

There are always the rigid STEM people who will come on and judge like this. The world needs artists, no? I don't necessarily care for this but I don't want to see a world without art. Sure, its hard for artists to support themselves but given the attention she's already getting, I think she'll launch herself successfully.

This sounds goofy if you just read the headline that she is carrying her mattress with her everywhere, but as an art project I think it's pretty interesting
