Our glider is from buy buy baby and they have an eco and baby friendly furniture protector. My baby is a huge spitter and has only spit up on the glider once or twice in 9 mos. I always have a blanket, pillow and or burp cloths.

Absolutely no way would I would Scothguard or similar spray on baby furniture.

I used muslin and other soft receiving blankets for everything. They are soft and easy to wash. If there is spitup, you want fast cleanup! Just swap out the blanket(s) and don't worry about your chair

I have a new glider for the nursery but I'm worried about how destroyed it will get with all the baby's spit up. I have always sprayed my furniture with protectants like Scotchguard, but I'm not sure if that is safe for an infant (obviously I wouldn't actually spray it with the infant in the room). It would be a shame to cover this with another piece of fabric because the chair's current material is so soft and comfortable - perfect for sitting and rocking the baby for long periods of time. Do other parents use protective sprays on furniture they know will be exposed to spit up (or worse), or do people just cover with sheets/towels, etc? Any recommendations? Thanks!
