I get my kids vaccinated at cvs by a pharmacist who is it weird? You prepare a dose, swab the shoulder and inject. I am sure someone with who has to go to school for a minimum of 6 years can accomplish this.

I've never actually seen anyone get a shot or ask about getting a shot at any of these places. But it seems like it has, in fact, happened. Seems slightly weird to me, but if no other option is available I'd do it.

OP here - yup I am asking about both. I became curious about this topic since I found out that pharmacists in Maryland can now give pretty much any vaccine, so I was just wondering how common it is to get any sort of vaccine from a pharmacist, and any opinions on the matter. Sounds like people are not having any terrible experiences with it...

I can get my flu shot free at work, but DH gets his at Target. I got my pertussis booster at Target earlier this year because my ob's office didn't do them. No problems, it was quick and easy and completely covered by insurance.

I saw my physician this week and asked about the flu shot and whether I needed to come for a special appointment for it. She said to just get it anywhere...drugstore, grocery store pharmacy, etc.

Got a flu shot at Harris teeter and got a coupon for some amount off groceries! And the pharmacist did a fine job- didn't hurt etc. This was a couple of years ago.

I was just curious to see what everyone's thoughts are on getting vaccinations at pharmacies. Supposedly pharmacists can give any vaccines now - not just flu shots. I usually get my flu shot at my primary care Dr's office, but perhaps just going to a pharmacy would be more convenient? Has anyone gotten shots from a pharmacist? thoughts?
