My mom used to say (way back in the day), panties up, dress down.

I used to cringe when she'd say that before I'd go out with my friends. Not so much inspirational as safe instruction.

She was right.

My mother used to say, "sit up and die right." I have no idea what it means, but it occurs to me sometimes when what I need is a swift kick in the pants.

Also, something something: "be strong because you never know who is taking inspiration from you." I read this within the last month and damned if I can remember where I even read it!
