LL Bean has some reasonably comfortable ballet flats - free shipping & returns.

I'm not a typical crocs fan, but man- some if their flats are comfy! I tried some on at an outlet while shopping for my daughter and ended up buying a pair.

Clarks often makes comfortable shoes and can be reasonably priced. I love the Cole Haan Air Bacara flats and the Carson ballet flats by Frye, but they're over $70. You can try 6pm.com to see if they have any good sales--I've found really great deals there. I'm pretty sure I bought my Carson ballet flats for about $70. Sometimes Amazon has good deals, too.

Thanks all. I'm a teacher so by DCUM standards, I am really poor. I was thinking of spending $70 max. I'll check out some of the suggestions.

I got them at the outlet store for about $200. Still very expensive, I know. But post pregnancy #2 my feet are a horrible size. Through the work of some dark Italian shoe magic these cute shoes make my huge feet look smaller and, dare I say, cute. I wear them almost every day. One year in and they still look new. Worth every penny .

I have some Ecco flats that are pretty comfortable.

I bought a pair of MizMooz flats and the leather is so soft it is like a dream. They stretch a bit though, so consider that when purchasing.

I have weird feet. I have a bone that protrudes from just under my ankle bone. It makes wearing a lot of shoes incredibly painful. I can wear shoes with very soft sides (the sides that would hit just under my ankle bone). Moccasins are great in the winter. Flip flops are great in the summer. The problem is that I cannot wear flip flops to work. I do have a few flat sandals with no backs but I'd love to find either ballet flats or espadrilles with very soft flexible sides. I tried Toms but I guess I was in between sizes so they didn't feel comfortable to me. Any ideas that won't break the bank?
