OP here. Thank you, 11:59, that was exactly my point. To add a bit of context, I'm an atheist and/or agnostic who is not trying to be snide, but would really like to understand the different varieties of belief. A similar thread about non-believers would also be interesting.

I'm the quoted PP at the top. I am a believer. I also think there's no way to understand God. Why are those two thoughts contradictory? You asked what kind of a believer I am and that's the kind -- the kind that believes but thinks it's impossible for humans to understand the answers to your questions.

I do believe that God is great enough for me to not worship him/her. I see nature as a system that God created that works on autopilot.

I also believe that you reap what you sow. Each and every action of yours will have a consequence. I believe that if you harm someone, you will pay for it, regardless of is you have accepted God in your life or not. I also believe that good and bad deeds do not cancel each other out. If you do good and do evil, you will get the fruit of both actions.

Thus, I have a problem with people when they say that "Jesus has forgiven them" or that "Allah has a place in heaven for martyrs".

God is the loving source of all that is.

We live in a responsive universe. Prayer and positive affirmation are powerful and life-changing.

People are inherently good because God is good.

There are many differing names for God.

There are many different paths towards spirituality.

Above all else, God is love. We we created as expressions of God.

By believing in the gift of his Son and following his Son you acknowledge his will and plan. Jesus said "you are either for me or against me". I believe your eternal condition depends on that decision.

God created existence, time , math and every scientific principle discovered/yet to be discovered and never to be understood by man.
God is Love. God is uncompromising Love laid out in the Ten Commandments and exhibited by Christ.
The purpose of the Universe and our purpose is to Glorify God.
Life on Earth and sequence of events is a creation that will seem like one second long in the afterlife.

Born again. Think of Christ often every day. Pray whenever agitated or anxious.
