Did mom put cilantro in them? Nothing tastes like soap to me more than cilantro. Even soap. Hate cilantro.

Do you use air freshener or does you mom? If I eat anything from someone who uses it, it tastes like the air freshener. Things absorb that odor and taste. I've even had fruit cake that tasted like the person's air freshener. I guess they're so used to it they don't notice it anymore.

Thanks all. They are ziplock bags. It's funny I never questioned putting them in the refrigerator, that's just what she has always done. I don't have baking soda in the fridge, so I don't think that is it.

I just remembered that sometimes her sugar cookies taste like soap, but it usually after they have been sitting around for awhile. I think I will freeze the next batch.

Maybe there was soap on the equipment when your mom made them. I'm really sensitive to the smell and taste of soap too.

my guess is they picked up the baking soda container from the refrigerator. Gross.

Maybe you're pregnant?

You can freeze dried egg noodles or keep them in an air tight container at room temperature. Not sure why you'd leave them in the refrigerator for a month. I'd toss and not eat that.

I have some dried egg noodles (egg, flour, water, salt) that my mom made for us about a month ago and have been kept in the refrigerator. After cooking they taste like soap. It is subtle, but I definitely taste soap. I have heard of old baking powder doing this, but I am sure she doesn't use any in her recipe.

Has anyone experienced this?
