I put them back on eventually, but let them sit out to dry a long time - propped up so air circulates

+. Put them on the drying rack for a while after they come out of the dishwasher. I also don't lock them down tight when I put them in the drawer. I've had mine for years and never had mold.

I have another brand (Snaplock maybe?) which I like better. The lids stack neatly for storage and the gasket is not removable, so it does not get moldy.

You can order replacement lids online from Glasslock and just pay for shipping. It's only in the USA though.

I stay in Singapore, how can I replace the lids? Is it free of charge? Is it safe to use when the silicone gasket turn black (not moldy, due to the pressure from the butter knife)? Is it safe to use when some part of the silicone gasket was damage by the butter knife?

It is so difficult to take out the round silicone gasket... I use a butter knife to take out the silicone basket but I damage 1 silicone gasket and the other silicone gasket turn black...
Conclusion: never buy any glass food storage container with silicone gasket so difficult to take out from the lid...

I don't put the lids on the glasslock after they come out of the dishwasher. They probably aren't 100% dry even though they look dry. This has really cut down on the mold.

+1. Do this every use and air dry thoroughly, and they won't get moldy.

Take the seals out. Wash in hot water and vinegar.

I have the same issues as well. I threw mine away, it was too gross for me. All of you might be interested, I saw a FB ad about an all glass lid container that takes care of the molds. I signed up for their product launch. it's called glasslidz dot com

Thanks! It never occurred to me I could take them out!

Agree. Take the seals out. I've used a butter knife. They come out and you can wash them.

Those seals come out pretty easily. We take them out, run them in the dishwasher, and put them back in.
If it's already turning black, it should come off pretty easily with a little scrub.

Has anyone solved this problem? My glasslock lids are getting the dreaded black stuff in the seals. Any way to get rid of it?
