As a fellow-quinoa hater, I wouldn't call it "vulgar", as in indecent or as in proletariat. Quinoa is neither, and more of the chic bohemian food variety.

Don't eat it. Grains aren't all that good for you anyway.

You keep on using that word. I don't think it means what you think it means
it's not my favorite grain but I like the extra protein. I used it half and half with cous cous in grain salads.

I love DC. Really, I do. People are more upset by the misuse of the word vulgar than interested in the merits of quinoa. I personally like it, fwiw, in a cold salad with cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, pine nuts and raisins.

OP, I don't think your choice of the word "vulgar" quite fits as a descriptor for quinoa, but I don't like it either. It tastes like dirt in my mouth, and has a gross appearance. I wish I liked it, because I know it's nutritious. And I'm generally not a picky eater... I like everything. But quinoa is grody.

Quinoa is vulgar? As in trashy? As in, "Strippers named Alexis eat quinoa in the kitchen of their trailer!"?

The things I learn on DCUM.

I don't find it to have a strong enough flavor to love or hate. For me it is just meh. Sure it's healthy, but not that special.

I use it to make tabbouleh if I can't get the right kind of bulgur, but honestly I'd rather have bulgur.

Try toasting it b/f cooking.

I'm not all that wild about it, but vulgar is a stretch.

Vulgar? Did you mean to use that word?

I think quinoa is yucky. I know it's healthy, I just don't like it.

There is only one prepared starch that is vulgar on DCUM, and we all know what it is...

I don't get it. I've had it prepared for me. I've bought it prepared out. I've made it myself. I absolutely hate it. Am I doing something wrong?
