I used to live in San Francisco and I love how my FB newsfeed has stories of people having personal interactions with him. His daughter played basketball in jr high against a team my co-workers dd was on. He was at the game like any other parent, and stayed afterwards for pictures with whoever wanted them. So gracious.

When doing standup at the Met: "I wonder if Pavarotti is at the improv saying 'So two Jews walk into a bar...'" Just genius.

Seriously. Jeez people. He was an actor. Not a god. He had demons like the rest of us but earned his paycheck well. Don't elevate him to such a pedestal.

Mrs. Doubtfire was one of my grandfather's favorite movies. I remember him laughing aloud while watching it two months before he passed away. He had pancreatic cancer and must have been in so much pain, but Robin Williams made him laugh.

I loved him in Good Will Hunting. (And love Matt Damon in anything.)

I have met many, many celebrities over the years. Mostly politicians, heads of state, supreme court justices, and Hollywood types. One person I wish I had the pleasure to meet and stand close to was Robin Williams. Though the pain in his eyes must have been deafening. We all grew up with him, and his diversified characters, and loved him as one of our own. I hope he knew that.

I lived in Boulder when Mork and Mindy was on!

I went to see Mrs. Doubtfirs in the theater when my parents were in the middle of a divorce. I started crying during the scene when the judge ruled he couldn't have custody of his kids. Ended up being a very cathartic moment.

Will always be grateful for the endless laughter Mork and Mindy, Alladin and Mrs. Doubtfire provided in my childhood. Good Will Hunting and Dead Poets Society are two of my favorite films. So sad.

DS loves the skit he did with a shoe on Sesame Street. So glad Robin Williams will continue to make countless children happy.
