No home religion, just atheist.
Just do the right thing. Civic minded.
Always was an atheist.

Hot. No , just joking.
It will not happen.
The only flames will be at my cremation.

Can you give some examples? How have you been coming out?

When people say, "I don't care what you believe, as long as you believe in something", that is saying there is something wrong with no belief.
I have been coming out by admitting it. First I used to say that I was agnostic, now I just say atheist. But as a child, I used to say that I was what ever religion I felt people wanted me to be.

I do, but it's used in the context of an exclamation of surprise. It has no more religious meaning to me than when I say, "Holy crap!" "goddammit" or any other variants.

Isn't it worse if a religious person uses this expression because it's considered blasphemy?

So you are only good, if that, because this is your fear?

Not the OP, but another atheist. I don't worry about hell because I simply don't believe in it. Faith is belief in the absence of proof, and without proof I see no reason to believe in Christian mythology any more than Christians believe in Greek mythology.

If I end up in a lake of fire for eternity I guess I'll have to admit that I was wrong, but given that I've (so far) lived a life that a Christian would consider moral, if the Christian god chucks me in a lake of fire for eternity for non-belief despite my good behavior then I'd have to spend eternity thinking he's an asshole, as well.

That's the beauty of being an atheist. We don't worry about such nonsense.

But if there really IS a hell, I hope Satan allows you to warn us. Just bring lots of sunscreen.

atheist, too

There's a difference btw tolerance and acceptance. When it comes to religious beliefs, I can't even define myself as tolerant. With other issues - like homosexuality - I am accepting, not just "tolerant."

I believe that if I'm tolerant, I'm being hypocritical. It just doesn't sit well with me.

Do you find yourself in either category with regard to the religious beliefs of others? Most of my friends are atheists - or have VERY liberal religious views. They're not rabid.
