In terms of other foods, there are amazing burritos in the Mission (24th and mission) - La Tacqueria, or 19th/mission at TAqueria Cancun. Not fancy, but sooo good. I eat them every time I go back. And no hassle.
If you want nicer, I'd try sushi. There is a great place in Noe Valley - Saru Sushi, and it's open for lunch. That wouldn't be too horribly out of your way.
I loved La Taqueria when I lived there!! Yea, truly awesome. Not sure I've had a good burrito since I left SF. Sigh. Now I'm craving one. On an odd note, they used to charge me extra for "no beans". I never understood why I paid more to get less. Still worth it though
