Just watch her face. I think one time, I quickly grabbed my son (he clearly was about to freak out) and the next time I didn't.

They are VERY used to people like us coming in with kids. Except maybe the geriatric one out in Rockville but even there they are super nice. They won't yell if you have to swoop around and grab your baby.

My kid used to love that. I don't shop there anymore but all the cashiers but one, in the years we shopped there regularly, used to let my DC take the items out of the cart and even scan them. Best part of going there IMO.
Just leave your kid in the cart. They do this at Costco too.

They will give your kids some stickers.

I leave my kid in the cart. He usually has a fist full of cookies and smoothie in his hands so he is fine. Are you worried your child will feel distressed or will jump out? I have a squirmer so he needs to be occupied or he will disembark.

OK, this is probably a dumb question, but you know how at Trader Joe's when you go to the checkout the cashier takes your cart on their side of the counter? How does that work if you have your kid sitting in the front? Do you just have to hold them while the cashier bags everything or what?
