Me too! I plan to buy tickets for the next menu at Next. I love their concept.

I would buy tickets if it meant I was going to be eating at Alinea or Next.

Would I? No. It sounds horrible to me. I have to buy tickets. I have to go a certain night. And then there is some fixed priced menu - which often means severely limited choices. I'd rather have one nice entrée than a three course meal on a fixed price.

But, I also rarely go out to eat, so I'm guessing I'm not the person they are aiming for - so maybe it will take off.

I do like the idea for a special occasion. Back in my pre-kid life when I had money to burn I went out of my way to go to high end restaurants, occasionally with set menus, and sometimes waiting several weeks for a reservation. It IS part of the fun of it, if you have the time and money!

I wouldn't want every restaurant to go to a ticket system, but I do like the idea, especially for situations where I want to take people out and don't want them worrying about the price of what they order.

I love the idea. I really enjoy prix fixe meals.

I generally just order cheap meals off the menu and don't enjoy them. I feel like it's a mental block, but whatever. I would really like it if price wasn't included on menus so I would order what I really wanted instead of fixating on price.
