No, that's why I've been saying most SLACs aren't worth the $65K a year in after tax dollars, especially since more and more students are taking five yearas to graduate.


Why 5 years? Are there more class and credit requirements these days?

This list is crap - it's more like a list of Ivy league and smallish privates in the northeast plus a few west coast schools. This should be re-termed the Ivy league and private lib schools list. How many schools in the south are represented in the top 50 - maybe 5?

No, that's why I've been saying most SLACs aren't worth the $65K a year in after tax dollars, especially since more and more students are taking five yearas to graduate.

Lists tilts heavily toward the microschools located in remote areas. No way are schools like NYU way below microscopic colleges like F&M.

Not a fan of USNEWS, but their methodology seems to yield more believable results than this one.

Plenty of fodder for discussion. In a nutshell, they LOVE SLACS, but not so much Ivy love. Some schools are trashed - Vanderbilt #54, Wash U #63, JHU #67 NYU #72.

Not sure if these are based on size (smaller is better) and proximity to Boston, MA.
