Try the Mom 100. I like it. Some no brainers in there (wraps) but she gives good tips and has a "fork in the road" for some recipes that tell you to serve it is as for kids but you can add more ingredients for the adults.

My kids have loved cooking from the Williams Sonoma Kids cookbook and Kids baking book.

I don't usually use specific kids cookbooks but I found that the martha stewart great food fast one works well for quick weeknight meals and kids can help prep some of the meals.

Check out the kids' cookbooks by Mollie Katzen, Rachael Ray, Emeril Lagasse, and Williams-Sonoma.

I want to get my 5 yr old DD involved with meal planning and prep and also shake up our boring dinner routines.
