I cant recall which restaurant I went to a few times that served what I came to call the "bowl" of wine. A generous glass, by any standard. Sure, 8.50/9 for the glass, but no question about the value.

The pizza, on the other hand, really is great. So if you dont care about red wine with your pizza being served as pictured on their site, then you will probably not be disappointed.

I'd say they are the same quality as Roscoes in Takoma park. I gave Roscoes alot of my money over the years because of their great pizza and they serve a great glass of wine. I was expecting the same here, and had every reason to. Got the great pizza, not the wine. That is not being petty. They are the ones who chose to be petty by serving five ounces.

I dont think of Kensington as deserving of their self proclaimed elite status. Im just saying, people who live in Kensington go to restaurants where they are served portions they are familiar with. So they are going to figure out they are getting less wine than at other competitive places. Unless they are blind, in which case when they come up several sips short, they will know!

I dont believe this was an accident. So Im not expecting any real results. It does not matter how hard the owner worked to get the store there. That is what it is to run a restaurant- you work hard. I have several friends who run restaurants- I know how hard they work. They also would never chintz on the wine. Its bad business. I work hard too and am also nice. Its not every day I go out to a restaurant of any kind.

Several restaurants have failed thinking they are so special to be in Kensington. Its not special if you dont deliver. I hope these people get it together, because their pizza is very good.

It's obvious where you are talking about. Bothy did you not talk to the owner. Have not been yet but glad they are here. The owner seems friendly and worked really had to get it open.

OP again. I just went to their website and saw that the way they showed their wine in the glass it very clearly is MORE than what I got, and by a good bit. THe shape of their glass is what makes it obvious that I got chintzed. Im not going back,

Plus I swear there is no way it was actually five ounces. My guess it was 4 1/2 tops.

It sure created a bad feeling in me! I went ahead and sent them feedback on their website. This is Kensington, its not like people here dont know.

They should not chintz on an ounce of wine. It annoys the customers and creates bad feelings.

I was just at a new local pizza restaurant which had a very limited selection of wines. That part is ok. I got the 7/glass Cabernet/ What arrived looked like a 1/2 glass. I asked the server how many ounces it was, and she said she didnt know. She said the glasses are "wide" which is bs. There was nothing wide about the glasses to make it look like THAT much less wine than any other red wine glass.

I later said to her I would like an answer to my earlier question, just out of curiosity, and she came back with "Its five ounces". Im pretty sure it wasnt. It looked more like 4.
Now, I would rather pay a dollar or even two more and have a proper six ounce glass. Some restaurants give generous glasses that exceed 6 ounces.

The pizza, however, was fabulous.

Now, I feel like the attitude of "I dont know" and not caring about the wine enough to know is not quite the way to go for a new restaurant that wants to sell its brick oven 12/single serving pies. Which are very good, but still. If you are going to serve wine, know the wine, know how much you are serving. Is that too much to ask? And what gives with the five ounces?
