A United Nations human rights body accused Israeli forces on Thursday of mistreating Palestinian children, including by torturing those in custody and using others as human shields.
It voiced deep concern at the "continuous use of Palestinian children as human shields and informants", saying 14 such cases had been reported between January 2010 and March 2013 alone.
Israeli soldiers had used Palestinian children to enter potentially dangerous buildings before them and to stand in front of military vehicles to deter stone-throwing, it said.
"Almost all those using children as human shields and informants have remained unpunished and the soldiers convicted for having forced at gunpoint a nine-year-old child to search bags suspected of containing explosives only received a suspended sentence of three months and were demoted," it said.

To deter stone-throwing. I would NEVER have my young children throw stones at soldiers. That is just plain insanity. What normal parent allows that in the first place? That's the problem right there -- using children to provoke soldiers who can't fight back against children. Why don't the adults throw the rocks?

Ah, Egypt, another bastion of democracy, where journalists are jailed, churches burn and are looted while police idly stand by, and women are afraid to walk alone in the streets.
If Egypt does something, it must be completely justified. Israel is in good company.

That is irrelevant since the Israeli government is against a 2 state solution. He said it no later than a few days ago.. As The Times of Israel reported, Mr. Netanyahu said he “could never, ever countenance a fully sovereign Palestinian state in the West Bank.”
But you haven't answered the earlier question...why do you support Hamas and their tactics?

Muslima, plenty of us support the rights of the Palestinians and feel for their plight and want a legit 2 state solution. We want the Palestinians to have their own state and for there to be peace. Don't you think Hamas is a major obstacle for that to happen? I think even Jeff realizes that. Why do you continue to support Hamas and deny that they are the terrorists they are?

I agree with this: Hamas are terrorists who cynically try to provoke conflicts that cause civilian deaths to make propaganda. But Americans are also horrified by civilian casualties. This explains Kerry's recent moves. What is sad politically is that the USA (Democrats) has no political vision and the "bomb everything" Republicans are just as bad.
