I'm German and Italian. I love my Vodka and Argentinean/Chilean reds and my New Zealand whites. But I've also lived in those 3 countries which is likely why I prefer them. Do enjoy a good specialty beer every one in awhile. Now don't get me started on pretzels and pasta....

OP, I'm French Canadian by origin and had a maple beer to die for up in Montreal. But I gravitate towards English Ales, gin, Pimm's. English, our sworn enemies. Hah!

Uh, perhaps because the only English wines I had were purchased at Tesco, but I found them all revolting. As in, pour down the sink when our hosts weren't looking.

Camel Valley (in Cornwall) had surprisingly good sparkling wine.

I do rather love English wine, Chapel Down in particular is fantastic. I don't think you can buy it here though.

Nope. More aspirational: love the Mediterranean lifestyle, so I tend to buy wines from Spain, France, Portugal.

Derp. OP here. I should have said "alcohol" instead of "wine"! Obviously not every country produces wine. FWIW, I'm part Irish as well and have never been fond of Guinness

No...my family ethnicity is mostly Irish (with a little German, Welch, and English).

I don't drink Whiskey or Guiness.

But I LOVE wines from Spain and Greece.

The wine of my "ethnic origin" would be vodka I don't like it and mostly drink wine from regions that have absolutely nothing to do with my parentage.

Do you find that you prefer wines that are associated with the region/country of origin of your family? For example, if your ancestors lived in Burgundy for many generations prior to coming to America, do you prefer Burgundy wine? This is true in my own family and I'm just curious if it's true for anyone else.
