The school is up and coming, and is considered a "Reward" school by DCPS (few schools are in this category). With all of the gentrification happening in Petworth, there is no way this school won't start becomign more sought after. Powell was in a similar position a few years ago and is now considered a desired school, even though test scores are the same as BMPV.
