Having recently moved and filled a 10,000 sqft home with furniture, I find that it is much more about style and construction, than brand. Some of the so called great brands make some pretty awful looking stuff. Sure it my be built well and last for centuries, but it will look ugly doing so. We have a couple of large pieces that are obviously made by cheap Chinese factories but they are *exactly* the style that we were after. These are mostly "display pieces", like book cases filled with books we would never read, trinkets, etc; so it doesn't really matter that they are not built like tank.
I really don't understand why people do this. Your house should be a reflection of you. Trinkets and books you'll never read, & otherwise filling your house with furniture for the sake of filling it up is really beyond me.
