Va Eastern Shore things to do include walks on a deserted beach, canoeing, historic home and garden tours, golf, boat rentals and fishing, eating crab in various forms, sitting and looking at the water views, it's pretty quiet down there. We rented a small boat to go to a sand bar at the mouth of the channel at Wachapreague, and the beach on the bay side near Kiptopeke is deserted, and canoed from our B&B to a silver sand bay beach at the mouth of Occohanock Creek.

We stayed at a B&B in Easton, MD, toured a bit around St. Michael's, got massages at the Harbour Inn in St. Michael's. Tim gave a great prenatal massage. I went at 7.5 months and found the activity level to be okay, although I did get tired of walking in the heat (August!). The Inn at Perry Cabin is a really luxurious place I'd stay if we could have justified the price. There are nice cheaper B&B's and I really liked the Bishop's House where we stayed. Hit the outlets on the way home. Fun weekend! We have some very cute pictures of a very pregnant me on that trip.

I did a local babymoon in late summer when I was 6 months pregnant. I wanted to be able to sit on a beach in a bikini with a baby bump with almost total privacy, short drives between stops, a nice places to eat or sightsee. We booked nights at some B&Bs on the lower Eastern Shore and explored the back roads around towns like Cape Charles, Willis Wharf, Kiptopeke, Wachapreague.

Some call this a "babymoon." The requirements in bullet form (easiest for me to digest):

-2 nights over Columbus Day weekend
-Within 2ish hours driving distance from NOVA
-B&B or inn (aka something quaint and cute), around $250/night or less is preferable, though a hotel would be ok too (and probably usually cheaper)
-Me: 7.5 months pregnant at that point. Interested in doing fun activities that wouldn't require a ton of energy; willing to skip some activities that DH could do on his own if I need to rest.
-DH: Intense vacationer. AKA he wants to do something every minute of the day from breakfast til dinner; willing to cut out some of it if I need to rest, but could go out on his own if he wanted.
-Us: Hoping to enjoy a nice weekend before our first child. Non-campers, non-spa-goers, non-golfers. We like history, but if there is anything fun and non-historical that would be great (seems like history is the only thing around here sometimes).
