Ipad Minecraft users: what can kids do with internet access versus without? Please educate me!

Related question, because I haven't actually sat down with it before…we bought a license for our Mac for my son. If we want to open another account for my other kid, do we need to buy another license? My son told me that we had to pay for it again if they both want to play at the same time (on two different computers in the house). But he's 11 and doesn't know how licensing works

iPad and Xbox. He wants the PC version but I think this is enough. Note that we isn't allowed to connect to the internet on either, so he isn't getting exposed to the M rating stuff a PP mentioned.
Seems quite easy to handle on iPad though I know he can't do much of what's possible with the game (see the no internet rule). Still seems to keep him very happy.

we have both the ipad and PC version. Right now we discourage use of the ipad because its like an addiction that follows him everywhere. He is stuck to that thing everywhere he goes. The PC version is slightly better and we can limit "game time" use more easily using a PC.

Updates are complicated but then again, he need not do a specific update unless he wants to apply some "Mods" (modify) to it. THis is something that most kids want to do at some point. But if he can do mods, he should then learn how to update it as well.

My son has also started playing Terraria. It looks old school, find it odd that kids like that retro-look. It seems to be similar to Minecraft in concept. I don't know how to play it any more than I do Minecraft. I can dig a really big hole in this game, too.

So far iPad only. He asked for the computer version, but has been satisfied with the new 0.9.0 update that just came out. At least for now.

Computer version is iffy. My son would much rather play it on Xbox. His friends have it on iPad and no issues like on his laptop.

My kids play it on iPad and have been able to do everything themselves (I would be no help, anyway). They're 9 and 7.

We have various problems with the computer version (on a mac). But I've never heard a compliant about the iPad version.

Minecraft is a great game, and ours play on the iPad, laptop and phone. You can get different updates. If you go to XBox, you're opening yourself up to the world of M rated video games.

DD plays on her ipad. It's very easy to install and update. I don't have experience with playing on xbox.

do they play on computer or Xbox? I am not techie but my 8 yo ds and I managed to get Minecraft on my laptop, but the installation was confusing and now I'm stuggling with updates. There have been times he couldn't get back on to play, and sometimes he wants to do something that he can't figure out and we search the web, but it's still confusing. I get a lot more frustrated with it than he does. Would we be better off getting the Xbox version? We don't have an Xbox, so we'd have to buy the system and the game. Thanks!
