I looked at your tile and I think that going a shade or two lighter might complement your tile better. But Bracing Blue is very pretty. I'm sure you will get a lot of complements with any of those shades on the strip.

You should get some samples and paint large squares either on the wall or cardboard in that room and hold it up to them.

No, I think it's a beautiful color. Since you have a skylight, it will probably work great for you. In our powder room, which faces the front of the house and has a small window, you can only crack the blinds and so light is limited. So we went with something about two shades lighter than your color. If I'd had a skylight, I may well have gone darker. Color is obviously personal bit I also think that the size of the space and the amount of light make a huge difference. The bottom line is if you love it go for it!

We still love our dark bathroom color (kind of a plum), five years later.

We did Benjamin Moore Knoxville Gray in one bathroom - love it - and Duxbury Gray in another and absolutely love that. I always think that the Duxbury Gray would make an amazing boys room color and I think the same would hold true for a boys bathroom.

I really like that blue! It'll look nice with your tile. I don't think it's too dark given the skylight. Can you get a sample and paint a large swatch on the wall to make sure it'll work before committing to painting the whole room?

I moved into a house where the previous owner painted all the bathrooms dungeon dark colors. We repainted. It was horrible.

That's the accent/border tile (although we are doing a smaller stripe of it). The tiles surrounding the tub will be 12x24 rectangles stacked horizontally. They are a medium brown porcelain. The floor will be a matte porcelain in the same medium brown shade in 12x12 squares set on the diagonal. New Kohler fixtures (Kelton series in chrome).

I think with the light and a lot of reflective surfaces like the mirror and fixtures it could be very nice.

How far down the paint strip are we going, here? I tend to dislike the bottom saturated colors because they show up very dark and require that you prime to cover them if you change your mind.

I need to pick the wall color my boys' bathroom, and I'm leaning towards a smoky blue-grey that is darker than what I thought I would pick. The tub and toilet will be white. The tile is a medium brown porcelain style with a border tile that has blues and greys. The bathroom is your standard hallway bathroom (not big), but it has a huge skylight and gets lots of natural light. We are also adding a new triple sconce over the mirror.

Will I regret going with a dark color?
