It's not so much the repetitive electronic tune, but that every minute or so a techno-sultry voice coos "Hel-lo." Probably from China, but it seems downright weird and creepy.

There was one of these when we lived in Richmond. We thought it was hilarious!

Just something about a guy trying to lure kids in with music, lol. Plus, don't some of those trucks also sell other 'items' - I thought some of them are a front?

Like the pied piper?

We have the "Hello!" one in Pimmit Hills as well. I hate hate hate it, not because it creeps me out but because it sounds EXACTLY like my mother-in-law.

Everyone should boycott them and say "good bye."

Why probably from China? Is there where the creepy ice cream trucks with techno music come from these days?

Probably just the techo-sound. But a lot of bad, creepy and unsafe things come from China.

That's what I was thinking!

I'm a total scrooge - not a fan of the ice cream truck at all.

Do I recall correctly that notorious mass murderer John Wayne Gacy drove an ice cream truck?

BTW, I can hear the creepy music truck now going around Tenleytown.

This is the norm in the small Midwestern town I grew up in. Don't think too hard about it. The voice is creepy and annoying, but that's all.
