OP again. Thanks for the advice. Since my size is changing (finally!) I hesitate to order online. When I was fitted last year at Nordstrom's, I was an H in one bra (Chantal, I think), a G in another, and a DDDD in another. So I might try some of your advice and spend an hour or two perusing the sale racks around the area. Thanks!

Aw, so sweet you think that size H bras exist in regular department stores, let alone go on clearance! Aren't you the cutest!

OP, I'd do sports/stretchy bras until I had some sense of where I was going to end up. $60 is not a small outlay for me, YMMV.

OP, I'm a 32 J so I know what you mean about spending a ton of money on bras. I can only go online to find my size and its never less than $50. That being said, an uncomfortable bra is horrible when you're huge like me. I'd bit the bullet and buy 2 bras that I could alternate until my size goes down. If you know a particular brand that fits you well, I'd seach online for sales. There aren't too many makers of quality H cup bras in my experience, so it's easier to google for sales.

Go to Marshalls or Ross. The expensive bras are marked down to Target brand prices there. I saw a Natori 36DD (at the 355 Marshall's) for $18 yesterday

Here is good bra fitting advice:

If you're going to measure yourself, read up on UK sizing. I don't know what brand you currently wear, but an H cup from Nordstrom is almost certainly UK sizing. Freya, Elomi, Panache, etc all have the same sizing. Check their websites for measuring instructions.

Thank you to the helpful posters. Maybe I'll go try on and see what my current size is. $60 is a lot for a bra, in my opinion, unless I'm going to wear it for at least a year.

Lord & Taylor sells H cup bras. The clearance rack at Nordstrom always has at least one.

i know, right?! one of those bras will easily set you back $65. but smaller endowed folks think you can shop the gap sales for wireless bras.

Measure yourself, then shop on eBay or go to Nordstrom Rack and buy one for about $35. You won't do much better elsewhere and you're unlikely to find anything close to your size in a store like Target. Their bras are US sized and stop at DD or DDD.

Nordstrom is having its big sale next week maybe you can find something there if you can wait a week or if you're downtown, Nordstrom Rack on L Street has nice bras (Wacoal, Natori, etc.) for about $25.

+1000000
Considering some of the ridiculous "dilemmas" people seek advice for I'm surprised some of you can tie your own damn shoes.

After my first child, when I used cheap bras and was always uncomfortable, I made the decision not to cheap out on my bras anymore. Technically, you're supposed to replace them every few months anyway (I don't actually do this) and nice bras are just so much more comfortable, especially when you're fitted properly. Get fitted again at Nordstrom and maybe buy one bra there and then see if you can find the same brand on sale elsewhere-I've seen Natori on sites like Gilt and Zulily.

buy something less expensive at a different store. Look at Title Nine sports, they're having a sale right now.

Post 07/11/2014 10:15     Subject: Get a new bra or wait a few more months?

I weaned over a year ago and my breasts never returned to their pre-baby size. They're still a size H while my body mostly returned to normal (currently about a 10). Last year I got fitted at Nordstrom for two bras, each at ~$60. Now, a year later, my breasts are finally starting to reduce. The bras are uncomfortable but I'm hesitant to buy another expensive bra when I don't know/hope my breasts will continue to reduce. I've been wearing a sports bra for the past week and while it's more comfortable than my bras, I don't want to look like I've given up. Any ideas? Keep wearing the sports bra? Buy a cheap bra at Target? Help. Thanks.
