Macbook Air? Just get a sleeve and stick it in your regular handbag. That's what I do.

Buy big leather tote bag. Buy sleeve for MacBook. Put MacBook in tote bag. Done!

But personally I'd buy the sleeve and then take the MacBook and sleeve to TJ Maxx, where they always have lots of leather bags.
