My family falls into "all of the above". My husband hates most leftovers. He buys his lunch (expensive habit I have not convinced him to give up).
I do get tired of leftovers 5 days a week for lunch, so sometimes I mix it up like Mondays leftovers on Wednesday. I go out to eat once or twice a week, depending on what we have leftover.
And sometimes the leftovers go in the trash.

We do this. DH takes most of the leftovers to work for lunch, or eats them at home. I don't eat leftovers, so whatever doesn't get eaten by DH gets tossed after a week or two.

Some things don't make good leftovers...I know what those are now (not much new cooking going on these days) so if it doesn't reheat well (e.g. fish) then I only buy enough for the meal.

I make extra so that I don't have to cook at every meal. We hardly ever eat out or buy lunch.

I try to use the leftovers in a different way so make it more interesting.

I don't eat leftover meat, just doesn't taste good to me, hubby & kid do. Most of the time we use leftovers for my child's lunch or even breakfast the next day.

I don't like leftovers, so I try not to make too much food for dinner.

If we do have leftovers, I have to repurpose them in some way: Last night's sausage goes into a jambalaya tonight. Last night's chicken gets made into salad or a quesadilla for today's lunch.

If it's something like pasta or rice that can be used as a base for another meal, I'll make extra. Or for things like ground meat or chicken, I'll split it in two batches and season/cook it differently.

I just don't like eating the same thing more than one day. If I have to eat leftovers, I wait. Monday's dinner becomes Weds lunch or Thurs breakfast.

I used to do this. Now we have way less money and eat just about everything like it or not.

We just rarely have leftovers. We buy lunch every day and both loathe making and packing lunches.

I'm pregnant with my first and am dreading the days when I have to pack a lunch for him/her.

Leftovers are awesome!

Someone on the "ways you're wasteful" thread posted they don't eat leftovers. This isn't the first time I've heard someone say that, but it's still pretty surprising to me.

We make enough dinner that everyone can have leftovers for the next days lunch. If I'm making soup, chili, or some other food that can be made in a big batch and frozen, I always make extra to have for another meal.

If you don't eat leftovers, what do you do with them? And do you make or buy a separate lunch every day?
