OP, really? It is one day a year.
I really don't get folks that think the world now revolves around them because they now hav kids.
I have kids, the world goes on! Teach them how to deal with it!!

I am on the West Coast, it is 1:27 and they haven't stopped yet.
However, it is so much better than my home country, where it goes on and on all night at New Year. Literally until dawn.

Btw, we live in Petworth DC and they are still going off and it's pass 1am. I have a 2 and 4 year old and it hasn't disturbed them yet.

It's a Friday night. They can stop whenever they run out.

People who are idiotic enough to set off their own fireworks (of the variety that are loud enough to bother neighbors) are not likely to think about or care about things like reasonable time limits.

There were just a bunch set if in my neighborhood and tubs nearly 1 am. So aggravating. Luckily my kids slept through them. At least it's a weekend tomorrow.

My bil couldn't handle fireworks when he got back from his tour in Iraq, so ops comparison might not be so far fetched. I think by midnight they should be done- any other night of the year? 10 pm tops. Well except nye

Actually, if you've come back from a place like Iraq, this isn't fun at all. There are some new ones in our neighborhood that sound exactly like incoming mortars.

I'm also in Arlington, and it seems to have quieted down at 11.

Suck it up, OP. It's one day a year. In a few years your kid is going to love watching the fireworks all night!

Not on the 4th. Our suburban neighborhood usually settles down about midnight. Never bothered me before we had little kids and I think people forget what it is like to have to settle little kids to sleep once they are past it.

Its hardly Iraq and its one night a year. Most people aren't considerate... something to learn now.

I would say 12:30 a.m.

It'd be nice if they stopped at like, 7pm but the reality is, it's a holiday heavily associated with fireworks.

We are in a very residential neighborhood with lots of young kids but also small yards and houses close together (Arlington). My 3-month-old has slept through it so far but my 3-year-old is lying next to me watching TV. I couldn't keep sending her back to bed when it's like Iraq outside every 5 minutes. I know it's the 4th but it's approaching 11:00. Am I wrong to think it's time for people to pack it in? Not that I'm gkjng to say anything and I don't even know for sure where it's coming from. But I just want to know if I'm being self-centered to expect other people to respect their neighbors at 11:00 at night.
