One day and not on the Tuesday due to Election Day

Nov. 3 and 4 are student holidays. Are those not the days for conferences?

Schools aren't a business. Don't think of them as such.

If I operated a business with this many days off and disruptions it wouldn't exist.

This is the kind of thing that makes people think that some parents are just looking for free daycare.

Many work during the summer and they deserve free time given the amount of hours they work and the salary they get. One of the few perks they get is a decent amount of days off. Do you want to create the last straw so that eveyr single good teacher leaves for an area with better pay, lower cost of living and a school board that actually cares what they think?

Dealing with your kids? Don't push off your issues as the status quo. As a parent I don't get spring and winter break off.

I care about retaining the best teachers. Cass sizes have increased and there have been many other changes that make it more difficult for teachers. Don't take away any perks.

Dramatic, much?

Do you not remember as a kid looking forward to those little "mini-breaks" spread throughout the year?
